About Us
WACOSA is committed to one goal. Success. Success for the nearly 500 individuals with disabilities who receive the training and support that lead to rewarding employment. Success for the many businesses who partner with us and benefit from the enthusiasm and strong sense of purpose these individuals bring to their jobs.
WACOSA, a non-profit, began in 1963 and by the mid-80s had a vision to connect the employment needs of the business community to those individuals who, due to mental or physical disabilities, had not realized their full potential. We strongly believe that every person in society deserves dignity and respect, and can be a contributing member of their community when given the opportunity to develop their strengths and capabilities.
Employers who partner with WACOSA receive not only the benefit of a reliable and cost-effective work force, but the knowledge that they are building community through social responsibility. Through effective job training and coaching, the people we serve are placed individually or in work crews at business locations or in production work at one of our three production facilities. The high quality of their work is an achievement for these individuals as well as for the businesses they serve.
WACOSA is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services, certified through the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, and accredited by CARF.
